A rig I created for TheDanse.com. It's always nice as a rigger when a client asks for something a little more unusual that allows for a bit of out of the box thinking to create it.
This has a completely procedural flight cycle driven by Xpresso and also includes full manual controls. So the animator can use the automatic controls, the manual controls, or any combination of each to get the results they want.
Rigged in Cinema 4D R13, I started from a purchased model that came with a basic skeleton and skinning in place and I added all the Xpresso, dynamic features for the wings and the manual animation controllers.
