A little comparison video I made back in 2011 comparing Cinema 4Ds auto tangents with the new (at the time) auto tangents in Maya 2012. I was reminded of this video recently as I got an email from a person at Mediaworks France asking if I could compare the animation tools in C4D with Maya.
In my opinion, while Maya is less user friendly than Cinema in some areas, with animation workflow (for character animation specifically) it really shines and while I'm happy to use either for my client work (the client is always right and they should get what they want!) I find features like these really help me to deliver a good quality result in less time. Hopefully if you agree and you'd like to see this improved in C4D like I would, you might send a suggestion to Maxon that they might address it.
